Pearl Louise Lockard age 81, of Texas Rd., Springfield, died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
Born Feb. 3, 1933 in Weston, W.V. and she was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey B. and Nellie Ruth Ball King; her husband, Ralph Willard "Jack" Lockard, April 13, 1991; a son, Carres Michael Lockard in 1956 and two sisters, Betty Hefner and Delores King.
She was a Certified Medical Tech and had worked at Weston State Hospital in Weston, W.V. for 25 years, Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine for 23 years, and had worked with her husband for many years in dairy farming. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Jacqueline Sue Lockard and Janet (Ron) Hancock all of Springfield, Deborah (Tom) Shackleford and Sally Lee (Dave Bush) all of Weston, W.V.; two brothers, Dorsey B. "Bud" King and Robert "Bobby" King both of Weston, W.V.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Burns, pastor of Springfield Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom, Mike and Joe Shackleford, Tracey Yeager, Jonah Pipes and Dave Bush.
Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
