Thomas Medley

Thomas Richard "Dickey" Medley died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Baptist East Pallative Care Center in Louisville after being hospitalized on July 7, 2013 for bacterial pneumonia.
A native of Springfield, Dickey was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Medley; and sisters, Helen Stoll, Vickie Edwards and Peg Wimsatt. He is survived by sisters, Barbara Jeanette Aronhime and Norma Leachman of Louisville, Rose Marylyn Boone of Springfield; brothers, Sidney Medley of Springfield, Benny Medley of Lebanon and Fred Medley of Calvary; and 37 nieces and nephews.
Dickey loved life and people, dancing, music (avid Elvis and George Strait fan), professional wrestling, collecting baseball caps and sports.ÊHe was an active softball player at age 59 with the Marion County All Stars.ÊHe attended St. Mary's Center in Louisville for a number of years and is the oldest research volunteer with Down Syndrome Aging and Alzeheimer disease study at University of Kentucky.ÊHe was a current resident of the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville.

Funeral mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin McGrath, O.P. officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Wimsatt, Donnie Jones, David, Tony, Michael Keith and Michael Paul Medley and Barry and B.J. Aronhime.
