Willis Edgar 'Bill' Dean, age 84, of Lebanon Road, Springfield, passed away at 12:20 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at his home.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Dec. 31, 1927 to the late Robert and Myrtle Blacketer Dean.
He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at Tatham Springs, a retired employee of General Electric and a farmer.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Leroy, Walton, J.R., Donald and Snider Dean.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Votaw Dean; a son, Billy Dean; a daughter, Glinda Beaven and her husband, Johnny; a granddaughter, Laurie Carrico and her husband, Jeff; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Peyton Carrico; a step-great-grandson, Derrick Carrico, all of Springfield; and a sister, Blondie Dean of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Compton, pastor of the Springfield Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Johnny Beaven, Barry Dean and David Yates.
Casket bearers were Jeff Carrico, Derrick Carrico, Gary Dean, Larry Dean, Ronnie Dean and Ralph Terrell.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
