Ancil Earl "Denny" Lewis, 88, of Mackville, passed away at 11:58 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at his home after an illness.
A native of Washington County, he was born June 10, 1930, to the late Earl and Annie Lee Baker Lewis.
He was a member of Mackville Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Preceding him in death was a grandson, Richie Lewis; two sisters, Martha Hellard and Orpha Walls, and six brothers, Bobby Arvil, Bruce, Vernon, Leon, Larry Gene and Donnie Lewis.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Sparrow of Lawrenceburg and Sharon Dedman (David) of Springfield; five sons, Jody Lewis of Bardstown, Gary Lewis, Ricky Lewis (Joyce) and Dennis Lewis of Mackville and Ronald Lewis (Melany) of Harrodsburg; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jewell Holt of Bardstown and two brothers, Carl Lewis (Frankie) of Springfield and James "Buddy" Lewis of Chaplin.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Reynolds officiating.
Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Tyler Lewis, Junior Lewis, Travis Chesser, Nicholas Lewis, Michael Sparrow, Justin Lewis, Jacob Lewis and Devin Mattingly.
