Burma Lou Hardin Thompson, 81, of Kelly Shop Road in Springfield, passed away at 3:12 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home in Lebanon.
A native of Washington County, she was born Oct. 4, 1936, to the late James Russell and Mary Juanita Sagracy Hardin.
She was a member of Open Arms Community Church and a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing Company.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Anna Ruth Pruyear and two brothers, William Hardin and James Hardin.
Survivors include her husband, Glen J. Thompson; a daughter, Mary Russell (John) of Springfield; two sons, Charles Harley Thompson of Springfield and Jimmy Thompson (Karen) of Bardstown; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Veronica Wade of Lebanon.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Yankey, pastor of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Harley Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, J.T. Thompson, John Boy Russell, Chad Rice and Brandon Gribbins.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
