Darrell Padgett, age 65, of Gravel Switch, passed away at 4:05 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional medical Center in Danville.

He was born in Lebanon, Ky. on Nov. 29, 1948 to the late Alvin "Joe Buck" and Genettia Smothers Padgett. He was a member of the Manna Harvest Church at Gravel Switch and a farmer. Preceding him in death was his wife, Debbie Poynter Padgett on Jan. 25, 2005 and a sister, Nancy Tennill on Jan. 20, 2008.
Survivors include, a special friend, Kimberly Estep of Perryville; three sons, Rodney Padgett (Missy) of Liberty, Darrell Lynn Padgett and Jody Padgett both of Gravel Switch; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Robbie Padgett (Judith) of Perryville and three sisters, Dorothy Daugherty (Bobby) of Perryville, Sue Teater (Russell) of Springfield and Sherri "Sissy" Padgett of Bardstown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan, 4 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lanham, pastor of the Manna Harvest Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Stacy Wilson, pastor of the New Beginnings Church.
Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery at Perryville.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Daugherty, Russell Teater, Charles Acey and Norman Elliott.
Serving as casket bearers will be Derek Padgett, Chase Carrico, Austin Noe, Jerry Noel, Jeremy Noel and Chris Whitehouse.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
