Donald Clifton Purdom, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 5:04 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
A native of Washington County, he was born on May 28, 1938, to the late Herman H. and Bessie Conder Purdom.
He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, a graduate of Springfield High School and a bookkeeper for the former Yates Truck Lines of Maud and McRay Truck Lines of Springfield.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Rita Lyons Purdom on June 13, 1981; a grandson, Michael John Cambron on Aug. 10, 1995; four sisters, Louise Purdom on July 18, 2010, Catherine Jean Purdom on Aug. 8, 1936; twin infant sisters and five brothers, Richard Leon Purdom on April 10, 1961, Herman Hall Purdom, Jr. on Aug. 20, 1962, Tom Purdom on Feb. 25, 1966, James Purdom on Oct. 5, 1967, and Bill Purdom on Dec. 15, 1973.
Survivors include a son Allan Purdom (Sara) of Louisville; three daughters, Marilyn Cambron (Mark) of Springfield, Mitzi Devine (Jonathan) of Springfield, Carol Clark (Jeff) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and seven grandchildren, Ben Cambron, Alex Cambron, Lance Herald, Seth Herald, Emily Purdom, Nick Purdom and Annalyse Clark.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, on Cemetery Hill with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Ben Cambron, Alex Cambron, Mark Cambron, Lance Herald, Seth Herald, Terry Purdom and Josh Walker.
