Mr. Edward Clifton "Cliff" Carrico, age 73, of the Pleasant Grove Community of Washington County, passed away at 10:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

A native of Washington County, he was born on Aug. 25, 1940 to the late Joseph Clifton and Elizabeth Cox Carrico. He was a member of the Open Arms Community Church, a 1958 graduate of Springfield High School, a farmer and retired truck driver having driven for 57 years without a citation or accident, during that time he drove for Victory Freightway and Reliance Electric.
Survivors include, his wife, Linda Mattingly Carrico; two sons, Jamie Carrico (Stephanie) of Springfield and Brian Carrico (Terri) of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Marianna McGavock (Michael) of Willisburg; a step-son, Steve Hale (Jeanie); two step-daughters, Christina Lawson (Mike) and Kim Grigsby (Joe) all of Springfield; eleven grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Bishop, pastor of the Open Arms Community Church, officiating.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jimmie Sallee, Charles "Chig" Coulter and Roy "R.L." Luttrell.
Casket bearers were Zachary Carrico, Lucas Carrico, Michael McGavock, Jimmie Crouch, Chris Hale and John Hale.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
