Frances Kathleen Greenwell Hamilton, 89, formerly of Cissellville Rd., Springfield, died at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the residence of her daughter, Angela Medley, in Springfield.

Born August 4, 1924, in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Marcellus and Frances Carrie Newton Greenwell; her husband, Louis Ivo Hamilton, March 8, 2007; a daughter, Theresa Elaine Hamilton, June 11, 1966, and two brothers, J.T. and Junie Greenwell.
She had worked as an operator at Cowden Mfg. Co. in Springfield for several years, was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Rose) Hamilton of Bardstown and Donnie (Mary Gail) Hamilton of Harrodsburg; seven daughters, Marilyn (Sam) Carrico of Louisville, Sharon (John) Hosek of Rocky River, Ohio, Janice (T.R.) Smith, Kateri (Eddie) Mudd and Angela Medley all of Springfield, Arlene (Richard) Brady of Elizabethtown and Peggy (Tobin) Thomas of Shepherdsville; four sisters, Sister Theresina Greenwell, O.P. of St. Catharine, Josephine Hill of Springfield, Ursula Wagner of Selinsgrove, Pa., and Marilyn Hill of Louisville; 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Hamilton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ryan and Craig Hamilton, Mason Carrico, Brian Avon, Tony Smith, Brandon Brady, Blake Thomas and Kyle Medley.
