James Richard "Ricky" Buckler, 62, of Cissellville Road in Springfield, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at his residence after a short battle with cancer.
Born May 22, 1955, in Lebanon, he was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Borgia Buckler, Dec. 12, 1989, and Mary Dorothy Ewing Buckler, Feb. 5, 2015, and a brother, Frank Buckler, Dec. 8, 1977.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Faye Fields Buckler; a son, James Richard Buckler II of Versailles; two daughters, Jessica Marie Buckler and Mary Angela Buckler, both of Lexington; a step-son, Michael Drury III of Louisville; three step-daughters, Paula (Gary) Proctor and Vivian Jo (Eric) Daugherty all of Bardstown, and Michelle (Charlie) Vittitow of Raywick; four grandchildren, Dominic, Jasamine, Tala Ann and Dane Lee Buckler; three brothers, Charles Patrick (Carol) Buckler of Stanford and Joseph Kevin (Cathy) Buckler and Bill Buckler all of Springfield; four sisters, Fran (Jimbo) Ferrell of Louisville, Joy (Larry) Hindman of Maryland, Sheila (Ted) Parrish of Jacksonville, Florida and Debbie (Vince) Montgomery of Springfield.
As he requested, cremation was chosen and a memorial Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Culpepper Elliott officiating.  Inurnment was on his parents lot at St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.
