Laura Royalty Milburn, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Washington County, she was born on June 23, 1928, to the late Ruel and Mable Simpson Royalty.
She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and a homemaker. She and her late husband also operated Milburn Shoe Shop in Harrodsburg.
Preceding her in death was her husband, H.T. Milburn on Dec. 31, 2004; a grandson, Howard Daniel Brady on Sept. 27, 1984; a great granddaughter, Nevaeh Milburn on April 29, 2017, and a sister, Mary Jo Teater on May 7, 2014.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Brady (Howard) of Springfield and Sharon Thompson (Rick) of Lexington; three sons, Rex Milburn (Melanie) of Atlantic Beach, Florida, Len Milburn (Susan) and Bruce Milburn (Rita Cook) of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Edna Lanham of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 13, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Bishop, officiating.
Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Laura Brady and Minde Briscoe.
Casket bearers were Cameron Thompson, Patrick Brady, Nick Milburn, Justin Milburn, Jason Brady and Tom Briscoe.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
