Mrs. Linda Faye Byrd Merriman, age 65, of Willisburg, passed away at 11:16 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at her home.

A native of Washington County, she was born on March 26, 1948 to the late James Willard and Frances Lewis Byrd. She was a member of the Anchor of Hope Church, a 1966 graduate of Willisburg High School, a barber and hair stylist.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Jessie J. Byrd on July 18, 1993.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Merriman; two brothers, Darrol Byrd (Betty), Norman Byrd (Debbie) all of Willisburg; three sisters, Geraldine Baker (Larry) of Loretto, Louella Merriman of Danville and Marilyn O'Bryan (Charles) of Springfield.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Cathy Cheatham of the Anchor Of Hope Church, officiating. She was assisted by Rev. Keith Webb, pastor of the Free Pentecostal Church.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Kim Simpson, Rhonda Hagan, Vickie Noel, Megan Gray, Amanda Rakes, Lisa Smith, Frankie Byrd, Chris Baker, Brent O'Bryan, Johnny Byrd, Tina Walker and Tim Norton.
Casket bearers were Brian Baker, Joey Byrd, Myron Byrd, Skyler Byrd, Jason O'Bryan and Derek Goff.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
