Mary Margaret Browning Spalding, 81, of St. Rose Road, Lebanon, passed away at 3:17 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Marion County, she was born on Feb.4, 1937, to the late Henry and Inez Raley Browning.
She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, a 1955 graduate of St. Charles High School and a homemaker. She enjoyed volunteer work at Spring View Hospital, Community Service Center, Ham Days, The Dream Factory and St. Rose Choir.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Elnora Bland and Betty Hamilton and four brothers, William Henry, Joe Frank, Eddie and Leon Browning.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bobby" Spalding; her daughter, Elaine Huellemeier (Greg) of Lebanon; four sons, Gary Spalding (Luanne) of Lebanon, Glenn Spalding (Sheila) of Bardstown, Mark Spalding of Lebanon and Michael Spalding (Shelley) of Versailles; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Susan Smith (Leon) of Springfield and two brothers, John Dennie Browning (Christine) and Donnie Browning (Sitter) of Lebanon.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 28, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Edmund Ditton officiating.
Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were nephews, Brian Browning, Scott Browning, David Browning, Alan Browning, Charlie Browning, Micky Browning, Perry Bland and Kevin Hamilton.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m., Sunday evening at Carey & Son Funeral Home by Rev. Kevin McGrath.
