Mitchell Reynolds, 94, of Springfield, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at Village of Lebanon Nursing Home.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Sept. 6, 1923, to the late Lee Roy and Lillie Mae Robertson Reynolds.
He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Gideons International. He was a lifelong farmer and a longtime employee of the former New Home Tobacco Warehouse.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Alma Lawson Reynolds on May 15, 1989; a sister, Fannie Lou Hardin and three brothers, Clifton Reynolds, Irvin Reynolds and J.W. Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Curtis Reynolds; a daughter, Judy Rudd of Lexington; a son, Lynn Reynolds of Bardstown; a step-son, Terry Curtis (Devola) of Louisville; two step-daughters, Carol Easely (Michael) of Tallahassee, Florida and Jane Land (Bill) of Louisville; two grandsons, Travis Rudd (Kionie) and Brian Rudd (Mona); three great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Julia Rudd, Evan Thomas Rudd and Kendall Leigh Rudd; three step-grandchildren, Ritchie Curtis (Anita), Valerie Wipple (John) and Stacey Hubbard (Kyle) and three step great-grandchildren, Bradley Wipple, Chris Wipple and Mason Hubbard.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Everett Greer and Rev. Nelson Reynolds, officiating.
Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Travis Rudd, Brian Rudd, Terry Curtis, Justin Reynolds, Bill Hall and Tommy Osbourne.
Serving as pallbearers were nephews, Felix Reynolds, Nelson Reynolds, Bobby Lee Reynolds, Harold Reynolds, Bruce Reynolds and Foster Reynolds.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
