Robert Cobourn Mulligan passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in Lexington, on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the age of 87. 
Bob was born on Oct. 5, 1930, in Louisville, to the late Ethel Price Mulligan and the late David C. Mulligan. 
Bob graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in engineering. He then went on to serve in the Air Force during the Korean War as a meteorologist. He also worked as a mechanical engineer at Phillip Morris in Louisville until he retired in 1992. 
He was the loving husband of Marion Anne Mulligan. He is also survived by his son, Dr. David C. Mulligan II (Pam) of Guilford, Connecticut; daughter, Tracy M. Humble (Dennis) of Louisville and grandchildren, Katharine and Laura Humble, Madeline, Benjamin and Grace Mulligan. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to St. Vincent dePaul Society, St. Rose Legacy Fund or ALS Association, which are most welcome and appreciated. 
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Dominic Hayes, O.P. and Rev. Edmund Ditton, O.P. officiating. 
Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Graves, Don Bonzo, John and David Sheffler, Vince Noble and Mark Koenig.
