Ronald Bruce "Ronnie" Burns, 75, of Tatham Ridge Road, Willisburg, passed away at 8:02 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018, at his home after a brief illness.
A native of Washington County, he was born on Nov. 17, 1942 to John Alvie and Alma Drury Burns.
He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
Preceding him in death was a grandson, Alvie Chance Burns on Oct. 16, 2016 and his father, John Alvie Burns on Sept. 3, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Levi Thomas Bruce Burns of Killeen, Texas; a daughter, Karen Hood (Chad) of Willisburg; six grandchildren, Koscha Cossey, Vincent Burns, Levi Burns, Lilly Burns, Brandi Hood Hart and Tori Hood; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Alma Burns of Willisburg and four sisters, Janice Best of Springfield, Phyllis Grubbs of Lawrenceburg, Alma Kathleen Taylor of Springfield and Debbie Keeton (Hal) of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 22, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John McDaniel, officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Terry Tingle, Gerald Hood and Gayle Burns.
Casket bearers were Gerald Boblitt, Harold Boblitt, Rudy Gabhart, Chuck Thurman, Kenny Burns and Darrell Tingle.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
