Russell Gary Pinkston, age 64, of Prather Lane, Springfield, passed away at 11 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Lebanon, Ky., on July 30, 1949 to the late William Russell and Geneva Baker Pinkston. He was a member of the Thompsonville Baptist Church and a farmer.
Survivors include, a sister, Deborah Pinkston of Springfield; three brothers, J.L. Pinkston and his wife, Eleanor of Willisburg, Dixie Pinkston and his wife, Sheilda and Charles Pinkston and his wife Shirl all of Springfield; two nieces, two nephews and six great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 21, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Chesser, pastor of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Jerry Goss, pastor of the Thompsonville Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers were Brad Pinkston, Nick Shewmaker, Derrick Lewis, Terry Hill, Paul Case and Don McMichael.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
