Sammie Dewayne Chesser, 45, of Springfield, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, in Nelson County due to injuries sustained in an automobile collision.
He was born in Lebanon, Kentucky on Nov. 13, 1971, to Sammie William and Charlene Chesser.
He was an employee of Downey & Son Pallet Company of Springfield and was preceded in death by his father, Sammie William Chesser on May 9, 1987.
Survivors include his mother, Charlene Chesser of Springfield; a son, Samuel Mason Harmon of St. Mary's; his fiancée', Mary Harmon of St. Mary's; two sisters, Rosemary Childs and Karen Barnett (Todd) of Springfield; two brothers, William Glenn "Buddy" Chesser (Anita) of Campbellsville and Gary Lynn Chesser (Glenda) of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Carey & Son Funeral Home Rev. Keith Creech, pastor of the Willisburg Church of God of Prophecy, officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as pallbearers were Buddy Chesser, Gary Chesser, Todd Barnett, Casey Stine, Billy Taylor and Timothy Stine.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
