William Raymond "Bill" Smith, 77, of the Mooresville community of Washington County, passed away at 1:17 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
A native of Jefferson County, he was born March 7, 1941, to the late Emmitt and Zanie Catherine Montgomery Smith.
He was a retired dairy farmer.
Preceding him in death was a grandson, Paul Dennis Darland; his father, Emmitt Smith; his mother, Zanie Beasley; two sisters, Joyce Smith and Pamela Foster and three nephews, Brandon Brake, Mike Brake and Tuttles Hunt.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lillian Bouse Smith; a son, Ron Smith; a daughter, Sherry Lewis (Tony) all of Springfield; two grandchildren, Jessica Martinez (Geronimo) and Cheyanna Mudd; three great-grandchildren; his step-father, Harrell Beasley of Louisville; a brother, James Sturgeon (Jane) of Louisville; five sisters, Bonnie Robbins (Bobby), Linda Hunt, Becky Sturgeon and Lorna Willbanks, all of Louisville, and Cathy Baki of Oldham County, and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Foster officiating.
Burial was in the Smith Family Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Clint Brake, Justin Brake, Matt Foster, Tony Foster, Chad Foster and Alex Baki.
