Wilma Jane Crume Arnold-Burns, 86, of Taylorsville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Wilma was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Springfield, to the late Logan and Ella Jane White Crume. She was a native of Springfield. After retirement from a 30-year career at the U.S. Postal Service in Louisville, she moved to Spencer County to join other members of her family.
She is the last of her generation of a large number of families in Washington County, the Crume's, Reed's, Litsey's and Spaulding's. She was born and raised on the Crume family farm. She completed high school in Washington County before moving to Louisville when her husband was hired by General Electric and never moved back to Springfield, but always in her heart, Springfield was home.
Her parents and her brother Harold Logan Crume precede her in death.
She is survived by one daughter Kay Arnold of Taylorsville; three sons Bill (Susan) Arnold and Mike Arnold of Taylorsville and Steve (Karen) Arnold of Southville; two stepdaughters Debbie Burns and Bunny Burns of Louisville and one stepson Bobby Burns of Louisville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Jane Arnold-Burns were Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at 3 p.m. at the Greenwell- Houghlin Funeral Home with interment at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Springfield.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the , the or Planned Parenthood.
