Charles Irvin "Charlie" Kelty, 77, of Louisville, Ky., died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 10:45 p.m., at his home. Charlie was born May 27, 1937. He was raised in the small community of Manton, Ky and was the youngest of seven children. He moved to Louisville as a young man and started his career at the Steele Mill, where after 45 plus years of service he retired. He was a member of AA for 40 plus years and just recently received his 40-year token.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Neomi Graves Kelty; twin brothers, Hermon and Herbert Kelty, and a sister, Mary Thomas.
Survivors include two sisters, Virgie Mattingly, Lebanon, Ky., and Martha Selby, Danville, Ky., and a brother, John Warren Kelty, Louisville, Ky. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews. A long-time friend, Carol Bell and his very special neighbors, Pat and John Featherstone.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
A visitation was held from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday evening by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
