Thenia Taylor Bottom, 103, of Stanford, formerly of Mackville and Springfield, passed away at 8:20 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Stanford.
A native of Washington County, she was born on Oct. 12, 1910, to the late Hannibal and Effie Anderson Taylor.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Owen J. Bottom on May 13, 1970; three brothers, Willard Rue Taylor, Sammie Taylor and William Henry Taylor and five sisters, Mabel Devine, Myrtle Dearing, Pauline Walls, Joyce Fowler and Eula Schauer.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Prewitt of Stanford; a son, Billy Gene Bottoms and his wife, Clementine of Springfield; four grandchildren, Ann Prewitt, Nancy McGeorge, Kathy Garrison and Billy Joe Bottoms; five great grandchildren, Jordan Bottoms, Mackenzie Bottoms, Matthew Garrison, Ryan McGeorge and Melissa McGeorge Pawley; three great great-grandchildren, Jackson Pawley, Sawyer Pawley and Cayna Renae Garrison and an expectant great great-granddaughter, Mia Claire Garrison.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 29 at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Watts, officiating.
Burial was in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers were Jordan Bottoms, Ryan McGeorge, Jeremy Pawley, David Carter, Willie Elery and Andrew Yocum.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
