Sarah Ruth Gibbons Brundige, 87, formerly of Rizer Ave., Springfield, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Cambridge Place in Lexington. She had resided in Tennessee and Lexington after leaving Springfield.

Born Jan. 21, 1927, in Rutherford, Tenn., she was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Smith and Lillian Pearl Harrison Gibbons, her husband, G.W. Brundige, Sept. 7, 1993, five brothers; Joe, Earl Wayne, Paul, Cullen and Hudson Gibbons and a sister, Dixie Beall.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons; Richard (Janet) Brundige of Lexington and Robert Brundige of Cynthania; a daughter, Betty Jean Rhodes of Columbia, Tenn.; four brothers, Davis, Jere and James Edward Gibbons all of Dukedom, Tenn. and Glenn Gibbons of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Justine (Pete) Soro of Nesbit, Miss., Alice Jackson of Memphis, Tenn. and Pearl Miles of Katy, Texas; four grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were private and burial was in Lebanon National Cemetery with her husband, G.W.
