Our family met Jack when we began attending Heron Park Baptist Church. I soon discovered that I had worked with Jack in the 80's when I worked at Simpsons in the Visual Presentation department. My husband and I have 6 teenagers and it warmed my heart to hear him giving them the same talks that he gave us young employees back at Simpsons. Whether he was working in the top floors of a department store with people from all backgrounds or sitting beside you in a church pew..........his love of God and desire to help youth was always evident. Jack is an inspiration for us all. God Bless the Douglas family for sharing your husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle with us.

Dear Hazel, Suzanne, John, Scott and Jennifer and loved ones,

Thank you for calling us to be with you. I cherish our visits and your example of what it means to follow in the steps of Christ. Galatians 6:14, 'May I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.' Your children are the riches of all you both surrendered to Christ.

Enjoy the honey from the farm. No pesticides or fertizers; all natural; so the honey is clean tasting.

We will be together again. Your words when we embraced at the funeral, 'Now don't you forget me', are heard and kept. You brought us into your family. Let us bring you and your children into ours.

love,

John Douglas was a regular guest at our annual Simpsons Executive Lunches over many years. I can remember he was at every luncheon except one year. John was always talking about his family and how proud he was of them! I had nice chats with Hazel over the phone. Rick Coulter, a fellow Simpsons buddy remembers John taking over the CW Wright public speaking course! We will miss him at our next Simpsons luncheon. Jo Ann Robertson

Jack was a respected Board Member of Community Centre 55 and my experience from a staff perspective, was that he was a great supporter, and honest man, both dignified and respected.

Jack was the first and main influence which led me to Christ ~ while campaigning in politics. Christian life and engagement in politics have remained inseperable parts of my life for over 30 years, owing much to the distinct privilige of watching and learning from Jack at Simpson's, in campaigns and at church. Jack was inimitable - tirelessly curious and wouldn't seek the spotlight, but Jack could see people and ideas. I can't believe he's gone, but of course, we know Jack is more alive today than ever. As Jack would often say as a parting word at the end of the day, "Keep the
Faith!"

One of the finest Christians I have known, Jack taught me to be a better person, and that politics and God were not incompatible!
