CAMERON, Gordon Robertson - March 24, 1922 - December 7, 2012 At Humber Regional Hospital, age 90, after a brief illness. Born in Toronto to Christina Robertson and Hugh Cameron, Scottish immigrants, who met and married in Toronto in 1915. Loving husband to Regis Ronan (deceased 1973) and beloved father to Trudy (deceased 1998), Christina, Gord (Anne), John (Maureen), Allan (Kim), Marjorie and Hugh. Grandchildren Brodie (Crystal), Shannon, Allison, Gord, Regis, Geordie, Andrew and Ian and great-grandchildren Owen, Olivia, Brayden and Orion will greatly miss their Grandpa/Boompa. Gordon was predeceased by his sister Marjorie Hesmer in 1985. He was uncle to the many Hesmer, Ronan and O'Grady nieces and nephews in Toronto and Colgan, Ontario and brother-in-law to Theresa Cairns, Bert Ronan and Agnes Ronan. He was a special uncle to the Rizzuto and Ross families of Toronto and the MACDonald family on the Isle of Skye. Gordon was a veteran of WWII. He served in the army as an artillery officer and retired as a lieutenant. He trained as an architectural draughtsman and worked as a specifications writer and business partner with Warren Scott, Lou Zalkind and Dennis Warrilow. They developed commercial properties including the Golden Mile and Niagara Square. Gordon enjoyed his work and its camaraderie and only stopped at the age of 72. Retirement years were spent in trips to the library, swimming at the Olympium Pool and in the company of family. He had good health into his late 80's and lived at home, having only recently moved to Leisureworld on Lawrence Ave. Gordon will be remembered for his love of simple pleasures: reading, time with family and people dropping in to visit. The visitation, service and reception will all be held at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga L4W 5J1, 905-602-1580. Visitation Monday, December 10th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service Tuesday, December 11th, 11 a.m.
