GRANT STELL Obituary

GRANT STELL It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Grant Stell on Saturday, September 7 peacefully and unexpectedly during surgery. Grant touched many lives in the 48 years he was with us. Born on May 15, 1965 in Oshawa, he settled in Toronto where he spent many years working as a sales executive for Advantage Data Systems. His generosity, loyalty and selfless compassion were shared by his family and his large group of friends and associates in Toronto, Oshawa, Florida and in Peterborough where he graduated from Trent University. He lived his life to the fullest each day and always had a smile or some quick wit response for everyone. Golf, sports, going to the cottage, annual trips to Florida in the spring and being with his friends were his passions. Grant will be greatly missed by his parents Donna and Gord Stell, his sister Jackie Buckingham (Dave) and his nieces Jayme and Sarah. Many thanks to some of his special friends - Jenn K, Chris (Willie) and Karen, Chris and Jen, Al and Lisa, Sarah and Lonnie, Mark and Mimi, along with so many others who supported him through his difficult time. Thanks to Dr. Rothenstein at Lakeridge Cancer Centre and the doctors at the London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Hospital. Family and friends will be received at Mount Lawn Reception Centre, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy. 2), 905-443-3376, on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Mount Lawn Chapel on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. Cremation. In memory of Grant, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Kedron United Church would be appreciated. Memories may be shared at www.mountlawn.ca

I was so saddened to hear of Grant's passing. He was one of the kindest, most dedicated and unselfish people I knew. Nothing was too much trouble. He travelled endless miles, over and above his obligations to make sure his customers had the emeregency items they needed. His customers came first always. He was a dedicated company man! He spoke lovingly of his parents, his sister and her husband and his nie ce and nephew. He loved his trips to Florida and talked fondly of the fun he had at the cottage. Grant will always be remembered lovingly and never be forgotten.

Extremely saddened to hear this news today. Unfortunate that I had lost touch with Grant over the years but have many fond memories at Trent and 'Mr. Blue' was such a larger-than-life part of that. Only thing bigger than his heart was his smile. Sincerest sympathies to Grant's family and his many friends - the world is lesser place without him, RIP Grant.

A true friend, that was Grant. I feel so lucky to have had him in my life for the last 25 years. His optimistic, caring, thoughtful, fun personality brightened my world too many times to count.

My thoughts are with his family that he loved so much.

A bright light put out too soon. Grant, I love you and miss you.

Grant and I were neighbours, we grew up together playing kick the can and throwing the football around in high school and he and his dad taught me how to build tree-houses. He was a great friend of Our family. He will be sadly missed. Keep smiling big fella.
