BARRY WILSON YOUNG Died unexpectedly Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his home in London, Ontario. Born January 20, 1940 in Chatham, Ontario, he grew up in Cornwall where he attended St. Lawrence High School. He graduated from Osgoode Hall in 1965 and was called to the Bar in 1967. He practiced law in Napanee, Ontario before moving the family to Toronto where Barry pursued his lifelong interest in politics and followed his entrepreneurial spirit. He is survived by his children, Adam Young (Kaori Hirata), Laura Young (John Monaghan) and Alison Young (Blair McKenzie), his grandchildren Aimee, Kazuma and Toki Young and his siblings Marilyn Beckstead, George Young and Kathy-Lynn Jodoin. His passing is also mourned by his nieces, nephews and many cousins, as well as Aunt Erma Young Roeder and Aunt Irene Gresswell Whyte. He was predeceased by his parents Mary Gresswell Young and Leslie Young, his brother David Young and his former wife Diane Young (née Kempton). Barry lived life to the fullest with a style hallmarked by a caring for people that commenced in his youth and lasted till his last breath. He was active in politics and public service to his fellow Canadians with his lifelong commitment to liberal causes. According to his wishes there will be a family commemoration of Barry's life. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Bruce Trail Conservancy or a charity of one's choice. "Our hopes are high. Our faith in the people is great. Our courage is strong.
