Diana Towers CARLETON (nee DIANA MARJORIE TOWERS) Diana Towers Carleton passed away peacefully in her home in Austin, Texas, surrounded by her family on April 7, 2016. She was 83 years old. Diana, "Diney" is survived by her loving husband, John W. Carleton and by their son, Jeffrey L. Carleton, both of Austin. She is preceded in death by her brother, Phillip B. Towers of Toronto; her mother, Kathleen M. Towers of Toronto; her half-sister, Muriel Prieur of Calgary; and her father, Matthew C. Towers of Toronto. Diana was born on September 17, 1932 in the Leaside neighbourhood of Toronto. After graduating from Leaside High School, she headed west to Calgary where she worked for a time at the Calgary Gas Company. She continued west to Vancouver, BC where she met her husband John in 1958. The two were married in San Francisco in 1961 and settled in the Reno, Nevada area. Their son Jeff was born in 1964. Diana pursued a course of study in Interior Design at the University of Nevada, and their home reflected her talents in this regard. She counted among her dear friends many musicians who formed the couple's social circle during John's tenure as orchestra leader at Harrah's Hotel in Reno. CARMELA CARNOVALE Passed away peacefully in her 93rd year surrounded by her loving family. Carmela will be sadly missed by her children Raffaela (Bob Kulchycki), Nick (Rita), Tony (Mary), Angie (Sam Karas) and Joe (Fiorella). Her memory will always be cherished by her grandchildren Leanne (Gino Menna), Michael Anthony, Stephanie, Andrew, Michael (Romina), Melissa (Drew London), Carmelina (Josh Wang), Anthony (Melissa), David (Elisa) and Paul (Julie). She will forever be loved by her great- grandchildren Daniel and Timothy. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Nicolina and Sara. She is reunited in heaven with her husband Michele. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. at the Highland Funeral Home Scarborough (3280 Sheppard Ave. E., 416-773-0933). A Funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church (3200 Pharmacy Ave.), on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. An entombment is to follow at Highland Memory Gardens (33 Memory Garden Lane). Rebecca CURRERI With great sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen Rebecca Curreri on May 21, 2016. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Grace Burton. Beloved wife of Lloyd Curreri and sister of Jane and Douglas Burton. Beloved mother of Christopher and Kevin. Loving aunt of Jessica (Joachim), Ilya, Kate (David) and Vanessa. A gifted Teacher with the North York Board of Education, she was loved by her students and respected by her peers. More than anything, Rebecca loved kindness. She lived her life with great compassion for others. With a generous spirit, she touched many lives through her involvement in community outreach programs affiliated with her church. Her life has been a blessing to everyone who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at R.S. Eugenia CZERNY (nee MENDYK) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Grenadier Nursing Home at age 89. Devoted wife of the late John. Loving mother of Chester (Claire), Barbara (Richard) Sadowski and Henry (Claudine). Cherished Babcia of Roman, Andrew, and Cameron. Fondly remembered by relatives in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Indiana. Retired employee of Dempster's Bread. In addition to being an excellent cook of Polish foods, Eugenia also loved to draw, crochet, knit, sew and play cards. Her creative hands were always busy. She was passionate about her gardens both at home and at the cottage. Special thanks to the staff at Grenadier and to nurse Krystyna of St. Elizabeth for their care of Eugenia.
