Obituaries from the Past Three Days

WILLIAM KENNETH ERSKINE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Kenneth Erskine who left us suddenly but peacefully Monday, April 25th, 2016 at his home in Etobicoke, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family by his side. Born on March 8, 1938 in Toronto to the late John and Dorothy Erskine. He is survived by his wife Marlene and his loving children Brent (Karina), Graeme (Jaspal), Julee (Dan) and Todd (Julie). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kristina, Dima, Mikayla, Tyler, Sitara, Sachin, Daniel, Emily and Ella. Loving brother to Irene Bloor (late Charlie), late Doreen (Ross Golden) and late Carolyn (late Charlie Ciftcikara). Loving brother-in-law to Murray Moffatt (Maureen) and Lorry Moffatt. Ken was a retired Toronto Blue Jays Director of Operations. Nary a family friend, nor relative was overlooked by Ken in providing them with their first summer job at Exhibition Stadium with the Blue Jays. His reach and impact to family, friends and the community was exhaustive. Ken graduated from York Memorial Collegiate and went on to Ryerson to study business and play basketball and football. Ken married his high school sweetheart Marlene Moffatt on June 29, 1963. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary just a few short years ago with friends and family. Ken enjoyed his retired years by reading, watching sports, doing crosswords, going to the theatre for movies and absolutely anything his grandchildren did. Visitations will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., Weston, ON M9N 1X7, on Friday, April 29th from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 30th at 12:30 p.m. at Central United Church, 1 King St., Weston, ON M9N 1K8. We encourage all to share your fond memories and pictures of Ken on his Book of Memories page at In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either Credit Valley Hospital or Central United Church (envelopes at visitation).
