Lau-Chun, Peter
Peter Hsieh Hung LAU-CHUN Devoted and loving husband and father Peter Hsieh Hung Lau-Chun, fondly known in his Mauritian circles as "Pepsi", died peacefully in his sleep on June 27, 2015 surrounded by his immediate family while vacationing in Niagara Falls. He is missed dearly by us all and we will forever be reminded of his cheerful demeanor. He is survived by his loving wife Cindy and cherished son Gary and daughter-in-law Joewell. Peter's footprint in life spanned across the globe - born and raised in Mauritius by his Chinese doctor father and homemaker mom. Peter had two brothers and sisters and was predeceased by his two brothers. His next stop in life for studies abroad led him to England and finally his final stop, his beloved adopted country Canada. It was in Canada that Peter met his wife Cindy and they were married in Montreal in 1976. A year later they celebrated the birth of their only son Gary. The family has been settled in Richmond Hill since 1988. This was Peter's last and favourite place. Peter was very patriotic to his Chinese and Mauritian heritage, making numerous trips back to his homeland in the twilight of his life. Peter was laid to rest in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by close family and friends at the Highland Hills Funeral Home in Markham on July 2, 2015. It was standing room only, where his life was remembered and celebrated. His family would like to take this opportunity to thank those who attended, which included his neighbours, Mauritian friends, family friends and his beloved family. As Peter always mentioned in his time with us, he lived a full life with no regrets and now he can do so in Heaven. He will be smiling and looking down at us all, while we continue on in our daily lives. He will no doubt give all the people he touched during his time all the blessings, as he did during his time on Earth with us. He is laid to rest at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
