RAJCA, RICHARD JOHN
RICHARD JOHN RAJCA (born December 28, 1947 died May 26, 2015) Passed away quietly after a brave battle with cancer. He was 67. Son of the late Angela and Joseph Rajca and beloved brother to Stephanie Janke (deceased Bernard), Joseph (deceased), Emilia O'Neill (deceased Tom), Teresa Silva (deceased Joe), Ron, Rosemarie (Graham Beckmann) and Loretta MacIsaac (James). He relished the time spent with his siblings and their loving children. A doting and committed father, he will be missed terribly by his beloved daughters Erin Catherine Rajca (Ari Hunter) and Kirsten Jennifer Rajca (Rene Serin), as well as former wife Mary-Catherine Travers and the Travers family. A devoted grandfather to Noah Hunter, his playful, warm and engaging nature made him a superhero in the eyes of this five-year-old. Among the family's fondest memories are Richard's trademark moves on the dance floor, wrestling with his grandson and his sense of humour. Born and raised in Toronto, he enjoyed walking the city's streets with his dog Roxy. Fun-loving, generous and kind, he devoted his energy to friends, family and charitable causes. He was passionate about animals, nature and, of course, a fine Scotch. A memorial for him will be held Friday, May 29th from 4-7 p.m. at The Estates of Sunnybrook, Vaughan House. The Rajca family would like to thank the staff at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for their support and care during his final days.
