REMO E. CHIVILO Suddenly at his home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Degan) of 64 years. Loving father of Mary and Janet. Remo will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave. W.), Weston, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 33 Connie St., Toronto, on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. SHIRLEY ANN CREASE In Loving Memory Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, May 20, 2016, at the age of 72. Beloved daughter of the late William and Leona Crease. Loving sister of Yvonne Crease of Algonquin Highlands and niece of Anne Burton of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by her dear friend Hope Mitchell and her family and also by her many cousins. Shirley's family would like to thank the nurses, staff, caregivers and residents for all their care and loving support during her stay at Extendicare, Haliburton. A Service to Celebrate Shirley's Life at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Bobcaygeon Rd., PO Box 427, Minden K0M 2K0 on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Davis, Joy  
Joy Carroll DAVIS "Emigrated to Another Star," May 14, 2016 Joy passed away peacefully at her home, age 91. Joy was a writer, musician, world traveller and friend to many. Born in the small town of Melfort, Saskatchewan, she worked her way up in the newspaper business: first with the Herald, then after moving to Toronto in the early 1940s, as executive editor of the National Home Monthly and scriptwriter for radio personality Claire Wallace. Joy published three novels during this period. She lived and worked in Toronto for the rest of her life. A prolific author, Joy enjoyed a successful career that spanned over sixty years, starting with an early Harlequin romance, Night of Terror (1950), and ending with Send Me a Platinum Blonde (2014). Other works included a best-selling romance, Proud Blood (1978), and a critically acclaimed history of the Battle of Quebec, Wolfe & Montcalm: Their Lives, Their Times, and the Fate of a Continent (2004). In addition to more than twenty books, she wrote radio plays, travel pieces for Chatelaine and Maclean's and scores of newspaper interviews and humorous articles. Joy's books were recognized for their riveting style, historical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail. Joy was painted by famous artists and married to a number of talented men. She added a dash of wit to every encounter. Joy is fondly remembered by her children – Anne, Barbara, Scott and Angus – from her marriage to writer Jock Carroll and her grandchildren. Her husband, TV broadcaster Fred Davis was the love of her life. He passed away in 1996.

DUBEAU, PAUL EMILE  
PAUL EMILE DUBEAU Age 85, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away May 25, 2016 at his home. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Inge Dubeau in 2006. He is survived by his longtime caring partner, May Klenner, son, John, daughters, Violet, Donna and Carol, step- son, Michael Czudnochowski and several grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers- in-law, Joachim and Jurgen Gerschkow, sisters-in-law Susan Gerschkow and Stephanie Gerschkow. Interment will be at Rosemount Memorial Gardens in Peterborough, Ontario.

LLOYD THOMAS DUGAN It is with sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Lloyd Thomas Dugan on May 24, 2016. Lloyd is survived by his sons Robert (Jean) and Gary. Predeceased by his son Brian (2013). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Breanne (Gerard), Chad, Kyle, Jamie, Alex and Miranda and by his great- grandchildren Rhys and Fiona. Lloyd will also be fondly remembered by his brothers Jack (Jill) and Earl (Nives) and nephews Brett, Shawn, Steven and Lloyd's longtime partner Joanne. Relatives and friends will be received at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2nd at Scott Funeral Home, 289 Main Street North, Brampton, ON L6X 1N5. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Lloyd.

ANNA-BRITTA ELLEN EDWARDS (nee SWANSON) 78, passed away peacefully at Welland General Hospital on May 22, 2016. Survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Robert Edwards. Lovingly remembered by her children Scott (Susan) Edwards and Lisa (Gordon) Young and her grandchildren Claudia, Avery, Kate and Ben. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Chisholm, Dr. Jeremy Adams, Dr. Colin Zides and the nursing staff of the Niagara Health System for their support and care over the last months. A celebration of Britta's life will take place at a time in the future. Interment at Kincardine Cemetery, Kincardine, Ontario. Farrell, Nancy  
FARRELL, Nancy (nee Teat) — July 19, 1922 - May 19, 2016 Nancy was born in Wales and immigrated to Canada in 1950 where she died peacefully at Peel Manor Long Term Care Facility in Brampton surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was predeceased by her daughter Joan Coates and son James Farrell but leaves behind an entire family who will miss her greatly. She will always be in the hearts of her granddaughters Lee (Jacques Laforest), Sandy (Joe daSilva) and Victoria Coates and will be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren Blair Agnew, Alexandra (Craig Macfarlane), Matthew and Brandon daSilva. She will be lovingly remembered by her great-great-grandchildren Liam and Jade Macfarlane and her beloved nieces Jennifer Alexander (Lori Boyce), Lynn Boht, Nan Teat and their families. Nancy was a Human Resources Executive at Canada Life Assurance Company where her progressive thinking and strong convictions earned her the respect of many. As per Nancy's wishes, there will be no formal service. Sandy and Joe will host a celebration of her life in their home at a later date where all will be welcome.

PETER THORNTON FELL May 10, 1943 - May 22, 2016 Peter passed away at sunset on Sunday, May 22nd. Beloved husband and best friend of Louise Marilyn Emery, great-great-grandson of James Fell, Mayor of Victoria, BC, son of Arthur Thornton Fell, mother Edith Hubie, survived by a sister. Peter's passion for sports began as a linebacker for the Montreal Alouettes, followed by an Executive Search career with his company, Fell and Partners. Peter had a charming and quick sense of humour. If you met Peter Fell, you would never forget him. His passions were boating, cooking, gardening, proline sports, history and loving mother nature's gifts. Peter will be missed by his true family, the Emery's. A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, June 4th at 12:30 p.m. at Cathedral Bluffs Yacht Club. FRASER-PURDIE, Mary (Maureen) — July 2, 1925 - May 17, 2016 We are heartbroken to announce that our Mum passed away on May 17, 2016 at 90 years of age. She was the last surviving child of Mary and William Fraser of Inverness, Scotland. Much loved Mum, Nana and GG to Jacqueline, Diane, Al, Diane (Ron), Kathleen (Paul), Alison (Glenn), Alex, Lauren, and Ryan. GG would have welcomed her newest great-grandson in July. Predeceased by her very much missed son-in-law Larry. Lovingly remembered by family and lifelong friends in both Canada and the UK and by her many friends in Lagoon City and more recently at Amica Retirement Residence in Mississauga. Our heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care, kindness and compassion given to our Mum by the Staff, Nurses and Doctors at both Amica and Credit Valley Hospital. As per Mum's wishes a private cremation has taken place.
