ELLIOTT, Jackolyn Patricia
ELLIOTT, Jackolyn Patricia - December 2, 1932 - May 17, 2015 Jackolyn passed peacefully listening to one of her favourite pieces of music. She was loved and will be missed by family, extended family, and friends around the world. Her grace, vivacity and enthusiasm marked all her activities and encounters. Jackolyn's life was concert dates, and wherever she travelled she returned with new friends. The youngest of the 3 Elliott sisters, she leaves behind Mrs. June Charbonneau, Mississauga, ON, and family, and Mrs. Georgina (Jo) Samis, Edmonton, AB, and family. Jackolyn was married for 15 years to the late William Frank Marsh, and she also leaves behind her step- children Paul Marsh, Burlington, ON and family, Ms. Linda Marsh, Toronto, ON, and family, and foster daughter Susan Vernon Marie Acquin. Born in Toronto to Margaret Daly Elliott and George Elliott, the family moved to Oshawa and then Bowmanville while Jackolyn was growing up. While in Bowmanville, her father ran "Liberty Bowl" where Jackolyn was "Queen of the 5-Pins," until she graduated from Bowmanville High School and moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson Institute of Technology. After graduation, Jackolyn taught in Cornwall, Perth and Barrie before settling into the York District School Board where she taught at Bayview Secondary School, and Don Head Secondary School, where she was the Department Head of the Tech department. She retired after a full career in 1987. In retirement, Jackolyn started a business to teach ESL. She specialized in working with entire families. Her love of language and communication were both her hobby and livelihood. Jackolyn's life was especially marked by her personal enquiry into the purpose and meaning of life. Her search was answered in 1968 when she met Kenneth George Mills (1923-2004). She was always proud to say that she had the fire of both her Irish and Sicilian heritage, and she focused that fire in an extraordinary way in her role in Dr. Mills' life and with those who gathered around him. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Dufferin Oaks, who were so responsive to this extraordinary woman during the past 18 months. Although the interment in the family plot will be private, there will be a gathering of friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Saturday, July 25 from 2 - 4 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to your favourite charity. Jackolyn's favourites included The Kenneth G. Mills Foundation ( www.kgmfoundation.org ) The Muskoka Chautauqua ( www.muskokachautauqua.com ) The Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville ( www.hhcfoundation.com ) Condolences for the family and R.S.V.P. for the memorial reception on Saturday, July 25 may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com Here's to you, Jackolyn - may we all live as fully!

Farwell, Judy Wade
JUDY WADE FARWELL 1938 - 2015 Judy passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, surrounded by family at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Survived by Peter, her loving husband of 53 years, and her two children, Sandra (Keith) and David (Stephanie). Proud and devoted grandmother to Maddi, Nicholas and Luke. Also survived by her eldest sister, Libby (d-Peter), Judy's identical twin sister Jane (Bruce), and her sister-in-law, Judy Shi (Johnny). Loving aunt to Linda, Peter, Andrew, Scott (deceased) and Kim. Predeceased by her mother and father, Nora and Frederick Wade. Born in Renfrew, Ontario and considered herself 'pretty lucky' to have cottaged with family for many years at Chenaux Heights in the Ottawa Valley. Judy married Peter in 1961, raised their family and lived most of her life in Lawrence Park, Toronto. Thoroughly engaged and supportive of her entire extended family, she would do anything for her kids and attended the birth of each of her grandchildren. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. Active in community through her work with the Junior League of Toronto and the United Church Women – Group B. She also had a career in retail and women's fashion which she loved. Managed a broad network of both the extended Wade family and many close friends through her associations with the Granite Club, Junior League, University of Toronto and Lawrence Park Community Church. Loved her dogs almost as much as her children and had several Lakeland Terriers and her current Poodle Shadow. Judy lived as an insulin dependent diabetic for over 70 years and was an inspiration to others with the disease. The family is grateful for the world class care and support from Sunnybrook Emergency and the Critical Care Unit there, led by Doctors Paquette and Chapman with their top notch nursing team. Our resident in-family physician, Dr. Bruce Merrick has provided unwavering support. Judy also received wonderful support and care from her diabetic specialist, Dr. Diane Donat and her cardiologist, Jim Dubbin – both good friends that helped to extend her life following her open heart surgery in 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Sunnybrook Foundation-Schulich Heart Centre (416-480-4483) or the Toronto General Hospital Foundation-Diabetes Islet & Stem Cell Research Program (416-603-6278) would be greatly appreciated.
