FLOYD, FRANCES MARIE (FREY)
FRANCES MARIE FLOYD (nee FREY) 1933 - 2014 Passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on December 17, 2014. She was the loving wife and constant companion for fifty-nine years to her husband James Floyd (Jim) and beloved mother to her daughters Karen, Heather (Mark Noskiewicz) and Frances (Denis Feltrin). Adored Nana to Claire and Eric Feltrin and Jamie, Andrew and Trevor Noskiewicz, whom she encouraged and supported with gusto. She is survived by her dear sister Shirley (Jim Feeley), longtime resident of Fremont, California. Predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Ernest Frey and her loving brother Ernie (Jane Frey), formerly of Beaconsfield, Quebec. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews Gregory, Rosemary and Michael Feeley and Ernie, Eric, Martha, Brenda and Andrea Frey. Frances was a social connector and entertainer extraordinaire who loved nothing more than gathering friends and family. She was game to try anything, be it surfing in Hawaii, dancing in Greek tavernas or hot air ballooning over The Valley of the Kings. In keeping with her incredible social spirit, she will be remembered for being the instigator of many varied social activities, including family regattas at beautiful Kahshe Lake, the first annual Beaver Bash at Beaver Valley Ski Club, a Laugh-In party in the sixties and a Constitution party in 1982. A voracious reader, Frances loved keeping up with current events and generating vigorous debate around the dinner table. She enjoyed a large circle of friends and always had a kind word and caring ear for all. A graduate of physical and occupational therapy (University of Toronto Class of 1955), her caring nature was also expressed through her work with disabled children over many years in Toronto schools. Please join the family at 80 Alexandra Blvd. on Sunday, December 21st, between 1 and 4 p.m., for a celebration of Frances' life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) would be appreciated.
