Phyllis McCurdy Obituary

MCCURDY, Phyllis Agnes (Hurley) - Born in Van Kleek Hill, Ontario, March 6, 1924, the daughter of James Hurley and Agnes McMillan, beloved wife of Rev. Archibald McCurdy, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Simcoe Manor, Beeton, where she has been a resident for eight and one-half years. She is survived by her son Scott, Peterborough, daughter Kimberley Ann (Rob Jandl), Abbottsford, B.C., Garth (Shannon), Niagara Falls, sister Patricia Malo, Montreal. Loved grandmother of Mark Van Beek, Brooke and Rianna McCurdy, Samantha and Jason Jandl, Michael and Timothy Dougan, Keanan McCurdy. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry, and brother-in-law, Robert Malo. Our thanks and appreciation is extended to the staff of Simcoe Manor for the consistent, high quality care given to Phyllis over the years. Funeral arrangements have been made by W. John Thomas Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held in St. John's United Church, Alliston on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who choose may make a donation to the Mission and Service Fund of The United Church of Canada, or The Alzheimer Society of Greater Simcoe County. www.thomasfuneralhome.ca
