Antti Aulis Ahonen

ANTTI AULIS AHONEN Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2010, in Toronto, Ontario. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Antti was born in Kuopio, Finland on December 1, 1929, the son of Antti Armas and Olga Maria (née Puustinen) Ahonen and brother of Aune, Lauri, Liisa, Leena, Kauko and Riitta. He is survived by his four sisters, his three children, Christine (Don) Doell, Sheila (John) Szabo and Andrew John Ahonen and his six grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Matthieu, Lisa, Jennifer and David. There will be a funeral service held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Highland Funeral Home, located at 3280 Sheppard Avenue East (at Warden Avenue), Toronto, Ontario, followed by a graveside internment at the Highland Memory Gardens cemetery, located at 33 Memory Gardens Lane (near Don Mills Road and Steeles Avenue). Our deepest gratitude to the staff at the Suomi-Koti Nursing Home and to Dr. Heikki Ylanko for all of their excellent, compassionate and thoughtful care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Antti's memory to the Suomi-Koti Toronto Nursing Home, by telephone, 416-421-6719 (ext. 228 and ask for Administrator) or just send a cheque specifying 'Nursing Home' to Suomi-Koti Toronto, 795 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M4G 4E4.
