CLIFFORD WILLIAM SMITH It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Clifford Smith at Etobicoke General Hospital on Saturday, January 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, March 21, 1917, he was the son of the late Herbert and Willena (nee Eadie) Smith. Beloved husband of the late Ellen (nee Murphy) Smith. Cherished father of Shirley, Ralph (Gail), Darrell (Lisa), Calvin and the late Darlene (Clinton Cooper). Deeply loved by grandchildren Tracey (Andy), Christine (Chad), Nikki, Shawn (Samantha), Ryan and the late David. Proud great-grandfather of Mitchell and Madison. Survived by his sister, Edith Williams, sister- in-law Florence Smith and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister, Jessie Baxter (Russell) and brothers Frederick (Justine), Herbert (Harriett), Ernest (Bertha), Arthur, Prescott, Harold and Ian. Clifford was a WWII D-Day Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 286 for fifty years. He moved to Toronto where he worked for Massey Ferguson for thirty years. Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (north of Rexdale Blvd.), Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated at Glenview Presbyterian Church, 1 Glenview Ave., Toronto, on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
