FRANK ARNOLD BINDER 56, of Solina, ON, passed very peacefully after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer surrounded by his family and loved ones on December 29, 2013. Frank is survived by his loving wife Donna Lake, sons Jonathan (Sarah and unborn grandson) and Jason Binder, parents Frank and Frances Binder, sisters Linda (Corrado) De Gasperin and Karen (Dale) Dearing, his four nieces Simone, Jaclyn, Stephanie and Loren, and his aunt Erika Taylor-Kummer (Fred Keist). Frank was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to all. Frank began his career as a Metro Police officer but soon found a home with the CN Rail Police Force, where he worked his way to Police Inspector and later Regional Manager of Public Relations. Always a dedicated and hardworking employee, his career spanned 30+ years and he continued to perform his duties right until his passing. Nevertheless, Frank always found time to relax and enjoy the other passions of his life, especially his family, athletics, travel and community service. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Bowmanville Hospital for all of their care and support of Frank in his last days. Throughout his remarkable life, Frank touched numerous people with his unparalleled storytelling ability, his consummate sense of humour and his unwavering strength of character. In lieu of traditional funeral arrangements, Frank has requested a celebration of life to be held in his memory at Bobby C's Dockside Restaurant, Bowmanville.
