LEONARDO JAMES D'AMICO

LEONARDO JAMES D'AMICO June 21, 1925 - April 29, 2014 Leonard J. D'Amico, 88, of North York, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 29, 2014 leaving behind his beloved wife of almost 66 years, Jessie and his five children: Peter, Steven (Annette), Michael (Eva), Lorraine (Douglas) and Mark. Cherished grandfather to Brittany, Cody, Scott, Daniel and Shannon. Leonard was born in Toronto where he took over his father's company, heading D'Amico Construction for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and especially playing golf at The Summit Golf and Country Club where he had been a member since 1960 and continued to play up to the end of last year's season. Leonard was also an active member of the Legion, Branch 66, having served in the Navy during WWII. A caring and devoted friend who never forgot a birthday, Len was constantly phoning both friends and family to keep in touch and offer a story, a bit of advice or a smile. There are no words to say how much he was loved, or how much he will be missed. A celebration of Leonard's life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the CNIB.
