Linda (Wilson) CHIDLOW

CHIDLOW, Linda (nee Wilson) - Passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday, December 20, 2012 at the age of 71. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip, the loving mother of Karen Taverner, Ty Chidlow and predeceased by her step-daughter, Phyllis Macdonald. Linda was the proud grandmother to Brandi, Lauren and Jillian as well as great- grandma to Asher. She will be sorely missed by her sister Barbara Vansickle (Mel) as well as the Chidlow clan of Bert (May), Don (Beryl), Alex (Fay) and Barb Whitlow and their respected families. Linda was raised in a castle on Brule overlooking the Humber River in Toronto by Muriel and Edgar Wilson. She became a teacher and passed on her love of reading to all of her students. Linda was privileged to have her life partner Philip for 36 years of marriage. During those years, they had their cottage property on Whitefish and spent many summers sailing Georgian Bay aboard the Cestrian. In their retirement, Linda and Phil turned into snowbirds and spent many winters at the Meadows in Tarpon Springs, Florida where Linda dominated the shuffle court. She will be fondly remembered by all of her friends in both Canada and Florida. Linda's cremation has already taken place and family and friends will be having a celebration of her life at the cottage when the weather warms up so we can enjoy the lake. If desired, donations to the West Parry Sound Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home and Chapel (89 Bowes St., Parry Sound).
