LUCY ALEXANDRA SAFIANUK

LUCY ALEXANDRA SAFIANUK With a sense of profound loss we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of a beloved friend on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Daughter of Anna and Joseph Tkachuk, wife of late Albert Safianuk. Remembered with great affection by her friends, Lucy will remain in our memories as a source of inspiration for what a person can overcome with a positive outlook of life. She will be most remembered for her tenacity as a post-polio survivor and as a musician who played classical violin and drums. Lucy was a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 20 years with the Toronto District School Board teaching at Regal Road Public School. Lucy loved children and was generous in her support for children's charitable programs. Lucy will be resting at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, at Windermere east of Jane subway. Friends may visit on Wednesday, November 21st from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Church, 135 La Rose Ave., Toronto on Thursday, November 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Prospect Cemetery.
