Mary LaFrance

L a FRANCE, Mary - After a wonderful life of 93 years, Mary Ann LaFrance peacefully passed away on January 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Village Care Centre in Midland, Ontario. Mary provided caring support for her parents while she enjoyed an interesting career at Bridgestone Firestone, formerly Dunlop Tires in Toronto and Whitby until the age of 64. She continued to find enjoyment working at Providence Manor, Toronto, until the age of 74. Mary was predeceased by her brother Francis in 2006 and her nephew Michael in 1998. She is survived by her sister-in-law Wyn LaFrance, her niece Rosemary Straw (Niall) and nephews Paul (Sue) and Mark (Sharon). Mary relocated to the Midland area in 2005 and enjoyed her later years in the care of Rosemary and Niall on the shores of Georgian Bay. Mary drew great pleasure from her visits with her great-niece and great-nephews and their children, as well as her many friends. Mary had a sense of humor, a sparkle in her eye and a helping hand in times of need on which many could rely. She will be greatly missed. Our thanks to all who provided Mary with the love and support that had sustained her. Mary will be interred in the family plot at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Toronto in the spring. Donations to Gift of Life Soup Kitchen, Knox Presbyterian Church, Midland, Ontario would be appreciated.
