Melencio Ngo YAO

YAO, Melencio Ngo - After a 2 year battle with cancer, Melencio left us in his 70th year to be with the Lord. He passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Mackenzie Health surrounded by family. He was a dearly cherished husband of Susana for 32 years and would be sadly missed by his brothers Leoncio (Rosalia), Ignacio (Jenny) and sister Natividad and will always be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Graduated from De La Salle College in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mel came to Canada in 1968. He worked for Systemhouse/MCI for over 20 years in Computer Technology and was well liked and respected. He had a keenly inquisitive mind, a passion for details and precision with the persistence to seek answers to problems. Warm, sincere, and always ready and willing to help, Mel had etched an unforgettable spot in the hearts of those whom he encountered. Visitation is on Sunday, January 6th (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.) at Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge St., Thornhill. A Mass will be held on Monday, January 7th at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Parish at 10295 Yonge St., Richmond Hill. Burial to follow at York Cemetery.
