Michael Edward MULVANEY

MULVANEY, Michael Edward - December 20, 1947 - November 22, 2012 Mike's long struggle with several illnesses ended in a sudden heart attack on November 22 at home at Abbeyfield Lakeside House. His parents George and Margaret (Galimberti) Mulvaney and his older brother Neil predeceased him. He is survived and mourned by his daughter Nora, former wife Maureen, sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Gerry Kiley, sister- in-law Lynn Mulvaney and their families. He will also be missed by his friends, especially those at Abbeyfield. Mike was born in Toronto, but grew up in Moncton, New Brunswick and worked and studied in Calgary before returning to his hometown. He earned degrees in English Literature (BA - UNB; MA - U of C), Anthropology BA (U of T) and a computer programming diploma from Humber College which led to his work at the Ontario Ministry of Revenue. His ability to connect with many people and his wide range of interests led to friendships with people in all walks of life. Mike requested cremation, which has occurred, and his memorial service will be Saturday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at Giffen- Mack Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, 416-698-3121.
