Norine (Isabel) MELLON

MELLON, (Isabel) Norine - April 3, 1930 - December 24, 2012 Passed away peacefully on December 24 with family by her side, after a valiant struggle with ALS. She will be deeply missed by her four children and their spouses, Debra (John) Perkins, Kim (Larry) Humphries, Sandy Mellon (Greg Maloney) and Charles Mellon. Survived by her dear brother and sister, Ted Jackson and Jean (Stan) Davies. Proud grandmother of Michael and Matthew Perkins, Christopher and Kyle Humphries, Kate, Lauren and Mairead Maloney, and Lisa and Charles Mellon. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families. Norine was predeceased in 1979 by her husband, Charles C. Mellon. Born and raised in Ingersoll, Ontario, Norine spent many happy, busy years as a helpmate to her husband, Chuck, in London, Chatham, Brantford and Toronto. After his sudden death, Norine built a new life as a travel escort and later as a volunteer at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre, while lovingly welcoming the arrival of her 9 grandchildren. Her family will cherish memories of her enthusiasm, zest for life, her courage and steadfast determination. Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter 'Butler' Chapel at 4933 Dundas Street West, Toronto (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a service of thanksgiving for her time with us at Islington United Church, 25 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Toronto at 1 p.m. We want to express special thanks to Barbara and the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community for their kind and loving care, and to Dr. David Venturi for his unwavering support.
