NORMA MARIE LEAKE

NORMA MARIE LEAKE (nee RING) Born July 2, 1923, Norma passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 17, 2012 in St. John's, Newfoundland, at age 89. Predeceased by husband Earl Leake. Loving mother of Janice Little (Wayne), Allan (Elizabeth), Susan and Ruth. Cherished grandmother of Jim, Ian, Amanda, Roy, Alex and William. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends. Predeceased by brothers Percy, Harold and Stan. Full of faith and compassion, Norma was deeply committed to the service of others. She served in London, UK during WWII with the St. John Ambulance Brigade. She later graduated from the Women's College Hospital School of Nursing. Following a break from nursing to raise her children, Norma worked for many years at Metro Legion Village. Norma was a life-long member of the Anglican Church. Among her many interests, she loved travel, cats, the Blue Jays and music. A memorial service will take place Friday, December 28th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's-on-the-Hill Anglican Church, 882 Kingston Rd., Pickering. Visitation at 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John Ambulance or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
