OLGA VUKOSAVLJEVIC Passed away peacefully on the morning of April 7, 2014 at the age of 81. Olga was very proud to be a Canadian after immigrating to Toronto from Germany in 1952. She was an incredibly hard-working woman and considered to be a consummate professional by her co-workers at the Royal York Hotel. Her resilient and independent character gave her the strength she needed to work full time, be a handywoman around the house and help her husband of 59 years Peter raise their two children Alex and Helene. Olga quickly adopted the name "Yiayia" after her first grandson was born in 1985 and she devoted the rest of her life to being a wonderful grandmother who always had love and words of wisdom and strength for her five grandchildren Jimmy, Peter, Mara, Nicole and Peter. She always loved cooking for the family, gardening, staying up at the cottage, watching figure skating and playing a good game of Gin rummy. Olga is survived by and will be forever missed by her husband Peter, son Alex, daughter Helene, daughter-in-law Lynn, her five grandchildren, brother Edward and sister-in-law Ellen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Sinai Hospital (https://www.mshfoundation.ca). A memorial service will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery & Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 2-6 p.m.
