SARAH (SALLY) HILLIER

SARAH (SALLY) HILLIER (nee EEDE), R.N. Veteran of WWII 1917 - 2012 Passed peacefully, surrounded by love, at the Ottawa General Hospital, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the age of 95. Born near Harrow, ON, served 7 years overseas in the Canadian Nursing Corps during WWII, thereafter, in Toronto and the last two years in Ottawa. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold, her daughter Hope, her seven sisters, and brother. Cherished mother of John Tanner (Greta), Gordon Hillier (Debbie), and Margaret Hillier/Jansen (Derek). Dear step-mother to Joyce Wallace (Bill). Loving grandmother to Seann, Marlowe, Colin, Laurie, Grant, Scott, Bruce and Beth, and numerous great- grandchildren. Many thanks to the staff of Amica at City Centre, Mississauga, for taking such great care of Sally for four years. More recently, a special thanks to the staff and residents of Amica at Westboro Park, Ottawa, for making the last two years of Mom's life so warm, safe and full of laughter. On behalf of Mamma Sally's family, a heartfelt thank you to Serwaa Agyemang for her love, laughter, dedication and guidance. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Toronto.
