Steven Brodie

BRODIE, Steven - Suddenly in New York City while vacationing with his family. Steven passed away peacefully at the Roosevelt Hospital on January 10, 2011 in his 82nd year. Steve will be sadly missed by his dear wife of 60 years, Lillian. Daughter, Phyllis, and her husband, Bob McIntosh, will forever have fond memories of their dear father. Grandpa's memory will always be cherished by his grandchildren, Keith (Kathy) McIntosh of London and Colleen (Josh) Cottrill of Welland and great- grandson, Lewis McIntosh, Steve and Lillian immigrated to Canada in 1952 from the Orkney Islands, Scotland where they raised their family in Toronto. Longtime employee of Emsig & Sons as a Plumber. He later started Par Mechanical Heating & Plumbing in Toronto. Steve built and enjoyed his cottage at Lake Catchacoma and later, his winters in Florida. Longtime member of Willowdale Presbyterian Church in Toronto and recently Knox Presbyterian Church in St. Catharines. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14th at BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, Downtown Chapel, 33 Duke St., from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated at Knox Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 15th at 11 a.m. (additional parking available at the Butler Funeral Home, 33 Duke St.). Burial to follow at Fonthill Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
