Thomas Francis McNamara

MCNAMARA, Thomas Francis 'Pat' - Pat slipped away from us suddenly at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Saturday, March 5, 2011, just a mere 11 days before his 90th birthday. He leaves behind his loving wife and partner of 64 years Ivy (nee Fordham). Wonderful father to son Paul (Katie) McNamara, daughter Jane (Greg) McNamara and terrific granddad to Shawn and Nikola McNamara. Sadly missed by special family member Betty Smith. Predeceased by parents, John Joseph and Bertha, brothers Art, John and sisters MaryAnn, Peg, Helen, Bid, Milly and Madeline. As one half of the fabulous 'Pat & Ivy', Pat laughed and danced his way through a life well lived. Pat was a proud Veteran of WWII (RCAF), proprietor of Green Acres Hardware, one of the T'Lake pioneers and longtime member of IUEC Local 50. Pat will be fondly remembered by Marg Saunders and by the many nieces and nephews left behind. Many thanks to the staff at the Coleman Centre for the kindness and care shown to Pat over the past eight months. Family will receive friends at the Scott Funeral Home- Georgian Chapel, 264 Burton Avenue, Barrie, 705-737-2040, on Thursday, March 10 from 1-2 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
