Walter Meldrum (Mel) PEACE

PEACE, Walter Meldrum (Mel) - Passed away suddenly on October 9, 2012 at the Brant Centre in Burlington. Predeceased by Barbara, his wife of over sixty years and his daughter Susan, Mel will be remembered with love by his daughter Jennifer. Mel was born in Toronto and grew up in Forest Hill with his brothers Robert and John. He was a Veteran of the Second World War. He worked at Sinclair Radio Laboratories for many years, then lat er for the Church Army in Toronto. After retiring he contributed many hours to the community as a volunteer at Sunnybrook Hospital and for the Rotary Club. He was an avid traveller, an enthusiastic supporter of the Arts and shared a wicked sense of humour with the world. He enjoyed music in particular, loved jazz and continued to play the drums throughout his entire life. Mel was a lifelong member of Grace Church on the Hill (300 Lonsdale Rd., Toronto), and a memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, November 10th at 11 a.m. Thanks to the staff at the Brant Centre for their excellent care and for enriching his last two years with activity and fun. In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider taking the time to visit an elderly relative, friend or neighbour.
